Lie detector tests
The Home Office will shortly commence a three year pilot of mandatory polygraph examinations.
The mandatory polygraph examinations will apply to domestic abuse offenders released on licence who are identified as high risk of causing serious harm. The tests will be carried out by four qualified probation officers. The pilot will test 600 offenders who are over 18 and sentenced to custody of 12 months or more.
