R v Wangige
Crimeline reports a prosecution for causing death by dangerous driving offended the principle of autrefois convict as W had previously been prosecuted for a number of offences arising from the same incident.
New expert evidence not obtained until after the original prosecution did not amount to 'special circumstances' so as to justify a fresh set of proceedings.
Held: Conviction quashed.
